How can I contact you?

We currently only provide online support via email. You may contact us at info@roadtestsny.com or through our contact form. We will answer your question within 24 business hours.

When will I know when my test is booked?

We always try to notify you as soon as we have the information. For regular road test appointments, we will usually notify you within three business days. If you do not hear from us within three business days, feel free to contact us at info@roadtestsny.com.  For the rush or super road test appointments, it may take longer than three days for us to notify you. Please know that even if you do not hear from us, we are working hard on finding you a road test date. If there are any issues with booking your road test, we will do our best to contact you.

Our mission is to simplify the road test booking process for you. We aim to make your
experience smooth and pain-free.

Are you the DMV?

Roadtestsny.com is a privately owned company. We are not operated by any state government agency. We do, however, schedule road tests through the DMV. 

The road test date that was booked for me does not work. Can it be rescheduled?

Once an appointment is booked, it is not possible to reschedule. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but due to our scheduling constraints, we cannot accommodate rescheduling requests. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It is important to carefully consider your availability before booking the appointment to ensure it aligns with your schedule.

Can I get a refund?

Once you have been notified of your test booking, we are not able to offer refunds. You may only request a refund if we have not notified you about your test date. If the Test date has been booked the contract has been fulfilled and the customer is no longer eligible for a refund.

What is the Pre-licensing Course/ 5 Hour Class?

The 5 hour class is a classroom course that is required by the DMV. The course
provides new drivers information to help them drive safely on the road. This class is
required before a road test can be scheduled.

What do I need in order to take a road test?

In order to take the road test in New York, you must have:
● A valid NY Learners Permit with photo
● An original, unexpired Pre-Licensing Course Certificate (MV-278) or a Driver Education Certificate (MV-285). You have also have taken the Online Pre-Licensing Course (OPL) through a DMV- approved provider.

What do I need to bring to the Road Test?

Everyone must bring:
● Your valid unexpired 5 hour course certificate.
● Your Learner’s Permit PLASTIC Card (not the paper interim permit)

If you are under the age of 18,
● You must bring this form with you, with your parents signature
● You must have had your permit for 6 months in order to take the road test
● If you have recently turned 18, you must have your new permit. The road test
examiners will not accept the junior permit if you are over 18. (To check which
permit you have, look at the top of the card – if it says “Under 18,” this is your
junior permit. If it says “Over 21,” this is your adult permit.)

If your permit indicates that you wear corrective lenses:
● You must bring your glasses or contacts with you.
If you are a temporary visitor / VISA holder:
● Please check the expiration date of your temporary visitor status, as indicated
on your permit. Make sure your temporary visitor status is not expired, or else
you will not be allowed to take the road test.

Do you provide a car to take the road test in?

We do not provide a car for your road test. We are an appointment booking provider only. The Department of Motor Vehicles does not provide cars for use during the road test either.  You are responsible for having a car that you will use for the road test. You can use a personal car or rent a car from a driving school. If you are attending the road test in a personal car, You must be escorted by a licensed driver over the age of 21 and the car must have proper registration and insurance.
